Whether you’re replacing an old radiator or need one for somewhere new, it’s worth considering taking a sectional approach to your purchase– especially if you’d like the radiator to sit in a space that isn’t compatible with standard radiator sizes.
Sectional radiators are available in different styles and colours, so whether you are looking for a traditional look or a more modern alternative, the ideal heating solution can be specified to work in any space.
Each section will be available in a number of heights and for multi column (steel or cast iron) radiators you can also change the depth of the radiator, depending on the number of columns there are. The radiator’s width is determined by the number of ‘slices’ you choose.
Take our Ancona Steel Column Range, which offers two, three, four, five and six column options. If you look at the two-column option end-on, for example, you’ll see two vertical columns and so on.
The beauty of sectional radiators is the flexibility. By being able to change the width, depth or height of the radiator you can achieve the BTU required with a design most suited to the space you would like the radiator to sit.
How do I order a sectional radiator?
Essentially, you can build up sections of pre-designed styles until you have the right width for your space. The sections are stocked individually and can be fitted together to meet your requirement.
When it comes to configuring a sectional radiator, first calculate the BTU required to heat the room; you can then select the correct size of the radiator by playing about with the width (sections), height and depth (for column radiators).
To do this, we have a tool on our website to help you. Once you’ve chosen the style e.g. Ledbury, click on ‘Buy Radiator’ for our Radiator Builder. Firstly choose the column option (4 or 6) then select your height, finally determine the width by using the ‘number of sections’ slider. You will then be shown the BTU and Watts value of the radiator, you can then adjust height, depth or number of sections to achieve the required amount..
Remember, the space in which the new radiator is to be installed must also be taken into account and, importantly, the position of the pipework of the radiators should be assessed too.
Whatever look it is you’re going for, sectional radiators can provide a tailored solution in terms of both heating and design and can provide a real statement to the interior design of your room.
